Since its inception in 1996, the Greater Hamilton Music Festival has sought to provide young amateur musicians of all ages and grades, with a dynamic platform for creative expression. It is our intent to support students in their artistic endeavours by providing the opportunity for expression of skill, innovation, uniqueness, and exceptionality. We seek to expose students to a wide variety of musical genres in the hope that we have inspired young people to explore musical diversity and individual creative development. This is attained by providing a varied syllabus and adjudicators that are proficient in providing informed and experienced feedback to participants.

By taking part in the Greater Hamilton Music Festival, students will be accorded the benefits gained from sharing in the excitement of music making, and in doing so, will learn from other participating students as well. It is a highly engaging process and one that allows for a more tangible and immediate link between music instruction, exams and public performance. Above all else, however, The Greater Hamilton Music Festival aspires to provide a venue that sets a tone of fun, creative synergy, and proficiency. In past years, student from across Southern Ontario have joined us and we invite you to do so as well!!
