Instrumental Classes - Piano, Guitar, Violin:
Students are able to play three selections within the instrumental class. One is a Popular Repertoire piece. This include anything that might be considered popular style music including pop, jazz,TV or movie themes. The second are Classical selections. These pieces must be from a Baroque and Classical repertoire and cannot include pop pieces. The third are Traditional selections and must be chosen from Romantic & 20th and 21st Century pieces and cannot include pop pieces as well. Guitar and violin students may choose any "traditional" piece provided it reflects the grade level being studied.


Voice Classes:
There are three solo vocal classes. The first, a "Pop Vocal Solo" class which includes a selection of pop, jazz, TV or movie theme. The second, a "Broadway Vocal Solo" which requires a piece from a broadway or musical production. Third, is a "CLassical Solo" requiring the student to a sing a selection from a RCM or Conservatory Canada songbook.



Pop Combos/Ensembles:
Combos/Ensembles (bands) may enter one of three categories. Junior, Intermediate, or Senior. Class is determined by the average age of all the members of the ensemble. Within these classes, music spanning all genres of music may be selected. Ensembles may choose to play one or two selctions but must meet time requirements.

Awards will be presented at the end of each class. Medals will be awarded to first, second and third place contestants based on three highest marks awarded by the adjudicator. Ribbons will be awarded to those wnot place in the top three but do achieve the following marks:
